What was your next course of treatment when the Ibrance quit working or did not work? I was on 125 mg for about 4 and 1/2 years along with letrozole and it has finally stopped working. I know that was a long time so i am anxious to know whats next. Had a CT Scan today. Will speak to the doctor sometime this week. Wondering what regimes others have been on. Thanks!

Hi, Andrea! That's a good run with Ibrance. I was on Ibrance and exemestane for about 2 years. After progression I switched to Faslodex injections and Verzenio. Faslodex no problem but had to adjust strength of Verzenio because of diarrhea. Good luck with whatever you and doctor decide.

Hello there,I am on Faslodex + Everolimus 10mg as my second line of treatment, and so far so well. I think I feel better on this than I did on Palbociclib.

Best of luck for your scan.

Today, Ibrance not working (per PET scan)but still taking Faslodex and will take this with afinitor. Did great on the Ibrance for 2 years with no side effects (except hair thinning but thank the Lord for my thick hair that thinning wasn't too bad). Hoping for good results with new med afinitor. Appreciate all the replies shared on this site. All have been helpful. God is good. Keep the joy and love for all.❤️

Lucky you that you had success with Ibrance for so long. I made it only about 10 months. I've been on Xeloda for most of this year and it's been quite tolerable. 3,000mg split into 2 daily doses, 2 week on/1 week off. I had quite a bit of nausea at the start but it completely disappeared when I added Pepcid AC twice daily and was careful to wait 30 minutes after I'd eaten to take it. Good luck!!!

First , congrats for having such a good, long run on Ibrance; it and it’s various sister meds, has been a game changer in this fight. I just had a consult with a medical oncologist running trials for new meds : Phase II Trial of Radium-223 Dichloride in Combination with Paclitaxel in Patients with Bone Metastatic Breast CancerThough I am not ready to participate in this new work, it was extremely interesting to listen to her outline the many options that are out there. One of the most exciting is how doctors are tricking the IBrance resistant cancer by giving estrogen injections for a few months and then restarting the original regimen.

Please know that you are not alone and what seems frightening at first may be a very useful and helpful treatment. And new treatments are on the horizon…including a new oral version of Faslodex.

Quite frankly, cancer treatment is one of the most lucrative areas of healthcare. If there is no real cure right now, they sure know how to keep us going (and paying) for a good long time. 🤔 so keep your hopes up…the journey is long 🥰

I would be interested to know about the estrogen shots... what exactly did she say? Also interesting that TNVol switched to Verzenio. That's what my Onc is mulling over for me. It seems like rotating between the CDK4/6 is kind of a "thing" these days. I love this board as it is so cool to hear everyone's different treatment approaches!

Exemestane and Everolimus is my next course of treatment after being told last week Letrozole and Ibrance have stopped working. I was on this combination for 2 1/2 years. I start the new treatment tomorrow. It’s another hurdle for us to deal with. I hope you have good results from your next course of treatment.

Sometimes, I feel as if we who have been the captain of our our lives for years, have given the power over to the oncologist who prescribes what is supposed to be a miracle potent. The Letrozole which I took for over a year caused internal trembling after just four months, trembling that continues to this day, every day and every waking night. I am certainly not complaining about the effects, more about the feeling of powerlessness when giving over big decisions to others such as the oncologist. I used to have one whose judgement I trusted completely. The one I have now is less trustworthy. Moreover, the Letrozole gave me major side effects but was completely ineffective and has been withdrawn for me.

Wow! What a great run on Ibrance/Letrozole! I was on Ibrance/Faslodex for about 10 months, until there was progression. I am now on Keytruda and Abraxane. Wishing you the best success with your next line of treatment!

I am loving your name, so cool.4 1/2 years on one treatment is so lovely to hear. Sorry time has run out with that line, but I am sure you will have just as good a run on the next line.

I am just over 2 years on my first lot of treatment.

Keep well

I echo everyone else's comments - great run on Ibrance! I was able to get 3.5 years myself with Ibrance and Letrozole before disease progression. I have ILC, which can behave slightly differently from ductal and my tumor burden is in the peritoneal space, around my sigmoid colon and a new spot in the adrenal gland. We did a biopsy of that tissue and sent it off for more genetic testing. I have the PI3KC mutation so started on oral Piqray (alpelisib) and Fulvestrant IM injections. Going for CT scan next week to see how well its working. I've had several of the side effects but trying to give a good go.

My oncology team is really great and my NP shares articles about the treatments. The US National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) website has been very helpful and that is where my oncology team also consults for treatment recommendations. The targeted therapies are very interesting and exciting. What a wonder, science! I wish you well!

I made it to almost 4 years on 100 dose of Ibrance with Letrozole . I was switched to Everolimus and exemestane….it didn’t work for me and caused lung issues. But my hair grew in thicker! After six months, I started Fulvestrant and Piqray last October. So far so good…PET scan next week will tell. My markers went down almost to normal. I hope you report your next steps.

I’m not there yet only one year in… did they scans show something that could be zapped? I always wonder when radiation will get introduced?

12 months on Palbociclib and Letrozole has not stopped slow progression of a bone met in my femur, so I’ve moved back to Tamoxifen to see if it will work differently before moving on to bigger guns. Hope it works. Thanks for all your interesting comments and information.

Hello - I was diagnosed with MBC in September 2021 - right after my ten year clean from original bc. Started Ibrance/Faslodex/Xgeva immediately and had great results…..for about three months. Switched now to Xeloda/Xgeva. About to start cycle 4 of Xeloda and have scans set for July 13. I hope they will show the Xeloda is working. Good luck to you on your next treatment. Keep hope. Best, Liz
