Hello Lori- Ann: I have not had bladder pain, however, I wonder if you researched this site you might find this problem has been addressed before. Also, you may have access to a national cancer centre where there is a nurse who can answer your question or steer you in the right direction to find out. Maybe you have already done this. Hope you find some answers.
Cheers, June S.
All the anti-estrogen meds can cause vaginal dryness and atrophy (shrinkage) and I thought of that when I read your note. Don't know if that is helpful to know or not.. (there are things we can do to help prevent those side effects. Compounded Rx testosterone cream is one and E string is the other-ask onc about these options.) I've had mbc, lobular, with bone mets and been in treatment for just over 17 years. Last fall a scan showed that there was a blockage in one of my ureters. (the tube that connects the kidney and the bladder) It was removed by a urologist and lobular bc cells were found in it. Lobular bc does spread to "odd" places like that, like tissue that lines or surrounds organs. If you have lobular bc you might ask if you should have scans to check for it in or near your bladder. This living with mbc can sure be crazy! It also could be totally unrelated to the bc.
Thank you. I should have mentioned I also suffer from interstitial cystitis, which is a horrible disease of the bladder with no cure. In 2004 I had to come off of tamoxifen due to bladder pain. So I was just wondering if the letrozole is affecting me the same way. Time to talk to my doctor.
Um, I am wondering....... the lung condition I developed while on Ibrance is called interstitial lung disease (ILD) and now I am wondering if there is any relationship between interstitial cystitis and ILD...... Our health sure gets complicated when we have more than one serious condition! I used to have just two doctors--primary care and gynie. Now I have so many....... more than enough to field a baseball team.
