I was wondering if any of you ladies deal with feeling weepy on your Ibrance or with your 7 days off ?? I am on my 7 days off and start my cycle back Friday and I think I have cried for 7 days straight?? 😭

Yes I think it's just par for the course.

It's a bit hit or miss for me. Sometimes I'm totally fine and other times late in week 3 or early in my off week I cry for the stupidest reasons. I think I've figured out that for me, when I'm weepy, I often find my neutrophils are low on my blood test. Obviously not a scientific study proving correlation but still. It may be you will find the weepy comes and goes. At least it does for me. Perhaps a chat with the oncology nurse to see if there's some value in looking at the dosing schedule if it is all the time? Or maybe they'd have a suggestion for something to help with neutrophils if for you it seems to be when they are low? Of course, again, this is me self diagnosing and the idea that it is neutrophil levels could be totally wrong!

I’m not too weepy just ‘down’ and really tired on my off days125 Ibrance & letrozole - when I start my next cycle I feel more energy and just feel better.

Wow, we are all so different on these meds. I am on Ibrance and Faslodex shots. Ibrance has never made me weepy but I tend to have the worst time with overall “flu feeling” the second week back on.

Hi Ginger

Yes, I too feel a bit less well after I go back on after my 7 day rest period. Just sort of down and low energy. I guess it is because our bodies don't like to be on an artificial cycle. But we don't have a choice because our meds are keeping us alive. I guess we just have to be good to ourselves on days like that and not be afraid to be lazy. Hugs Marlene

Thanks Marlene. That’s exactly what I do on those days. So glad I retired early and am in the position to do that. It’s a blessing.

Hi, I’m de novo mbc with extensive bone mets. I’m on my third Ibrance cycle and Arimidex so not much experience yet. I do feel worse on my Ibrance week off with more aches and pains from the mets but so far I haven’t felt more weepy. I feel best on my third week of Ibrance. As the other ladies say, it’s amazing how differently it affects us. Hang in there!

My PET scan showed "innumerable" mets (too many to count) in my pelvis, spine, sternum, scapula, ribs and skull, You?

Same as u except for leg, arm.and mandible (jaw) also. Just awful. However my faith in God has sustained me. It's a horrible disease.

Hi! Yes I am on Ibrance and Anastrozole, & I get weepy too. I really think it’s every thing combined, not just the med’s😊

Hi there, yes ! It's odd. When you take your body off iBrance the body has to re-adjust for a week off. In my case (and I'm on iBrance and Faslodex) I'm good for the first few days and then get a bit lethargic or weepy at the drop of the hat.

I have occasionally felt weepy but not for any length of time. But it is probably okay to cry. We are all in a situation that is very hard to handle and it is enough to make us cry every day. I think you should just cry your heart out. It might be very good medicine. We all have things to cry about. It isn't easy to sick and it is even more difficult to be getting older with all the tribulations that it brings. So be at peace with your tears. And tell yourself every day that you are healing. Hugs Marlene

Yes, that is likely really good advice to seek counselling. I never thought to mention that because I do think it is quite normal to feel very sad. And I do think it is okay to cry. It might allow you to clear out some things that you have been harboring for a long time. I have gone through a lot of self examination since my diagnosis and have faced some demons that I thought were deeply buried. I did have one counselling session and it did help. So the advice you are giving is very good. And you have described the situation we are all in very well. We are all handling a heavy burden and of course do feel very sad at the blow we received when we got this diagnosis.

W all probably wonder why we have given this cross to bear. There are no real answers but we might be able find peace with it. Hugs Marlene

I agree with all you said. I have started counseling (online) and a few different online support groups. It has all been so very helpful.

We are all definitely carting around a heavy load with this diagnosis. I do feel more hope than I did a few months ago. ❤️

Yes! My week off tends to be a hard week, I usually can't wait to get back on Ibrance. I also struggle with a bit of depression and started on a low dose of Prozac, this will be my first cycle on it and I'll be curious to see how my week off is (I'm just finishing up cycle 5). It has helped me tremendously.

I take celexa which is an antidepressant however I dont think it is working. I have been on prozac before a long time ago and I remember it working really well so I am going to ask my onc pharmacist of she can switch it. When it comes to my meds I always go to my onc pharmacist first and she will consult my oncologist.
