Has anyone decided to not take ibrance and just stuck with an aromatase inhibitor? What happened?

Ibrance
Hi, I was on Ibrance and Letrozole since July 2017, and NED since December 2018. When Covid started my medical oncologist held my Ibrance. She offered this to her patients that were NED or stable in their disease. I have remained off of the Ibrance since then. Scans that I had done last August and in February show that I am still NED. She said that I can stay off of the Ibrance until I show signs of progression.
Amazing! What else are you doing in your lifestyle that is helping with NED?
Prayer. I haven't done anything else consistently.
Always number one!
Oh my goodness. This is good news. But are you don’t scare the progression come back for this decision ? Are you on Letrozole too?
Yes, I do get concerned about progression. But my oncologist said that I could go back on the Ibrance if that happens. I get my tumor markers checked monthly. Right now I'm only on Letrozole.
Sue566I do like this way of thinking. I often wondered why (if over a good period of time) stable/NEAD is showing on a scan why Ibrance is not stopped. As I’m no expert, I thought it was because once you’re off, there’s no going back, but if you can that’s great!
If you don’t mind me asking - are you having full body scans every 3 months to check for any activity?

Hi, My medical oncologist has told me that I can go back on Ibrance if there is progression. But I know that there isn't much information on it because people usually stay on Ibrance until it stops working.
With scans, before the Ibrance was held, I was having a CT of chest, abdomen, and pelvis, and a bone scan, every 8-10 months because I was NED. Since the Ibrance was held starting in April last year, I had my routine scans in August and then my medical oncologist suggested that I have follow-up scans after only 6 months, which I did in February. The only area where the cancer had spread to (that we know of) is the middle lobe of my right lung (3 tumors).
Hi SueThanks for replying
With that new information/spread - you’ll be back on ibrance right? Three tumours is 3 too many - no longer considered NED?? Wishing you the best
N
No, I am still currently NED since December 2018. What I meant was when I was originally diagnosed metastatic back in 2017 I had 3 tumors in the middle lobe of my right lung, but all of those resolved with treatment (Ibrance and Letrozole) and can no longer be seen on scans. I'm sorry for that confusion. Good luck with your choices!
Thank you 😊 what a wonderful result... and long May it continue x
Hello,
I have never been on ibrance. My oncologist put me on letrozole, zoladex and zometa as my standard of care treatment in 2018.
Sophie
Where else are your tumors?
I have a spot on my T8 and L4.
Hi. Are you scan Free??? NED?
I did 9 rounds of Ibrance but was constantly neutropenic (even at lowest dose) which was especially dangerous during pandemic. I’m now on AI - Anastrazole (Arimidex) and Fulvestrant (Faslodex) shots. So far so good... stable.
the body has received Ibrance, AI, and Lupron since Aug 2015. scans have consistently indicated NEAD/stable since March 2016. recently discussed treatment protocol, again, with onc. she stated i could stop Ibrance, not the AI; no research to indicate the efficacy of Ibrance on it's own. have been on 2-3 month Ibrance vacations over the past couple years to heal from sinus infections and injury. still pontificating about stopping Ibrance, as the benefits outweigh the risks, for this body.
