Liver and bone
Hey - what treatment are you currently on? Amd what have you moved on from?
I did Ibrance for a few months with falsodex, then letrozole with xgeve and lupron shots those are all my treatments
Kduck Do you have other mets besides those in the liver?
I started with bone only, they have been NED for almost 4 yrs. now my doc wants to start IV Chemo, I do not have a problem with that I just feel as if there’s more to offer before IV.
I was diagnosed MBC with a metastasis to the liver. You may have read elsewhere on this page that I underwent a microwave ablation at Memorial Sloan Kettering. I consider that it is a huge success for me and that at the moment, I am NED!
How many liver mets did you have in order to do this procedure? Does it matter how many mets in the liver?
I had one fairly large lesion. I know that there is a limit of a few. I think that it matters what size they are. The doctor told me that it was larger than the scan had shown and that if it had gotten any larger, she would not have been able to get it all. I will tell you that I am associated with Memorial Sloan Kettering because of their prominence in cancer care, not because of the personality of the oncologist.
Hello kduck I was diagnosed with Mets on my liver and was put on Ibrance and Letrozole (and Goserelin shots every 28 days). Just have been diagnosed with new met on a vertebrae and my liver is feeling swollen. So I will switch treatment but I am not sure which one, wanting for a genetic result test. I will let you know what would be next.
Did you get any tests ?
Take care
Just MRI, please let me know what your next treatment will be. My next treatment will be taxotere
I will! My oncologist said she wants to try a targeted therapy (this is why I am doing genetic testing) and wait for chemo as the last option. I think you are going for a second opinion right ? The second opinion I got also recommended genetic testings and targeted therapy but I guess everything will depend on the results. Best wishes
Hi kduck, I have had mets to liver and bones since August 2016 with the same type of cancer you have. I unfortunately have lots of liver mets. I am now on my 9th different line of treatment, so there are many things left for you to try. My treatments were, in order, cyclophosphamide and adriamycin, femara and lupron, ibrance and faslodex, affinitor and aromasin, taxol, xeloda, gemzar, a clinical trial drug named ipatisertib, and now abraxane. I may need to switch again soon, but my doc is very positive and says there still are many things we can do. Stay positive, hopeful, and strong! Mary
