A happier new year

I just wanted to wish you all a happier new year and to say thank you for being here with words of advice and encouragement. This board is part of the better bits of 2020 for me which I will happily take into 2021.

I have a scan next week, on the 5th, just to see how I'm doing now I've been on letrozole for 4 months. Needless to say the trepidation of scans has started to unravel my cool calm exterior (ha!).

Anyway, peace to you all and much love.

Caroline xx

Hi Caroline,

I agree that this forum has been part of the better side of 2020. It’s helpful to be able to engage with other ladies going through the same thing.

I wish you all the best for your upcoming scan next week. I hope it’s good news and shows that your current treatment is working.

Hope you have good scan results? Are you just on letrozole only?

in reply to kduck

I'm also on herceptin and perjeta, have been since MBC treatment started in may, chemo didn't really do anything so letrozole was started after that ended. Last scan in October showed that mets had begun to stabilise after progression in liver whilst on chemo so I'm keeping fingers crossed.

Hi Caroline

So true... without this forum I would have been a bag of nerves. With the knowledge that has been shared, I have learnt to accept and live with beast and have realised that a diagnosis is not an immediate sentence to the gallows!I carry on as I used to (as much as I can) and so far this attitude has served me well :-)

I too have scan booked on 5th Jan, first year anniversary! Fingers & toes crossed for us both...

Thank you for your warm wishes. Yes, I think 2021 will be a much more positive year ahead for all of us. There is evidence that new research will result in more mbc cures and so we can look forward to healing. By the way, I think most of us fear the results from the scans but I have come to regard them with less fear. I am on Letrozole and Palbociclib (Ibrance) and my scans have lately shown good stable results. So I am optimistic about the future plus I am doing lots of research on herbs to add to my daily diet. Best wishes to you and your family for 2021. Hugs Marlene
