Hi Wendy Marie,

I like your attitude! I agree that taking an integrative approach can really help. As well as the things you mentioned, I also take off-label drugs, supplements and listen to my integrative doctor's advice. I am normally "good" Monday-Friday and then on the weekend I relax my diet and routine a bit. I had pizza for dinner tonight, and a couple of small cakes. I try to enjoy life and poke fun at this disease when I can. I once told my husband that I would beat this disease or die trying. I was laughing my head off, but he didn't think it was funny!

😆😆😆

daily positive affirmations and healthy boundaries

Putting on your favourite music every now and then and (if you're able) dancing around the house, the cheesier the song the better! Get those endorphins pumping😀

Thank you for reminding me to do this!! I've slacked off, but you're right! :)

Bingo !!!! Love it ! I'm an 80's gal. And when my husband leaves for work, I tell "Alexa" to crank top 80's songs when I'm cleaning the house (it's my therapy). If you ring the doorbell and see a 5'10 woman sliding across the tile in socks (Tom Cruise style) with a mop and sporting a pair of pajama's .... it's not ME. Just the cleaning lady ! LOL

Born in the 80s, grew up around a wide genre of music from the decade and I think it's the decade that gave us the best songs ever! Anything by Wham, culture club and spandau ballet has me on my feet☺

I really like your attitude. I believe our attitude has a lot to do with our health as well so finding things we enjoy that boost our endorphins is awesome like singing in the shower.

Yes it does. We have to stay as positive as possible! 😁

I don’t think it’s possible to live a stress free life but it is possible to be positive about the stresses in your life. The negative Nellies in our life can sure destroy a great deal of the good times we have left. Like others have said, staying positive is key!

in reply to Red71

I couldn't agree more! Staying positive might (or might not?) give us greater *quantity* of life but it certainly gives us better *quality*. I feel that any day that I spend "cranky" is a complete waste, a (small) theft...Positivity adds life's "account"... :)

p.s. The negative Nellies need to be jettisoned (or at least silenced)! :)

Sending my best,

Lynn

You have a great attitude! I've only been dealing with this MBC a year. I had a mastectomy 23 years ago and thought I was done with breast cancer. I feel good 90% of the time and certainly not ready to call it quits. It help to read how long some of the ladies have dealt with this. I try to stay positive.

Hi Wendy Marie,Absolutely. I'm with SophSP in that I'm coming after this not only with our Lord but standard and integrative approaches. CoC and Supplements. In my case, I'm 2 months in on my Stage 4 diagnosis. Thought I had it beat the first time. ATTITUDE is everything. Now with respect to eating healthy, exercise, praying and resting, I check the boxes on everything but getting my bumm moving everyday (exercise). There I need a swift kick in the patootie. LOL. And here I am - an ex Olympic caliber swimmer. I need to get out and move more. Ordered a bicycle for myself for Christmas. I like to feel the wind in my hair (?) when moving ! Stay strong. And anyone who knows me, knows I have a sense of humor. My bike is not coming with training wheels. :-) Heart hugs Wendy !

Im a big believer in the power of positive thinking. For me it makes a massive difference. Just undergoing whole brain radiation treatment at the mo which is scary but Im keeping very hopeful and positive for a good response. My lifestyle has changed completely because Im on long term sick from work now and the reduced stress is a definite game changer for me. I bought a Himalayan rock salt lamp too which is the most soothing relaxing thing ever. £15 off amazon, cheap as chips.

Best wishes everyone, have a lovely Christmas. X

Hi Josie,

How are you feeling? Do you have many more radiotherapy sessions left? I hope you get the results soon and that it’s working for you.

Take care,

Sophie 💐

Hi Sophie, Im a little bit frazzled but generally doing ok thanks. Just on my way home from todays session. Had 5 last week Monday to Friday and having another 5 this week. Might take up to a couple of months to know if treatment has been successful as it keeps working in your body. Im very optimistic. Hope youre keeping well. X

Hi again Josie,

That’s good that you are hopeful. It sounds promising!

I’m not too bad. I’ve got an appointment on Friday to investigate a nodule on my thyroid. I asked my oncologist if it’s cancer and she doesn’t think so. But I told her I still want it investigated, so I am having an ultrasound led needle aspiration. I hope I don’t have to wait long for the results.

Thanks Sandra. Apologies for delayed response, been navigating my way through some gruelling side effects. Can understand why they dont give everyone the 10 sessions, its proving quite tough at the minute. Never mind, itll be worth it. X
