It will be sore for a short time. They have to do a bit of manipulating to make the pocket and put it in. Some Tylenol and a couple of days and you should be all set.

Hi, Yes mine hurt for a little while. They gave me pain meds for three days. My oncologist gave me a lovely ice pack when I first met her. It has two straps at the top and two on the bottom. I rigged it over my shoulder and it covered my port for a week and I felt great. Went to work every day like that.

That port made my chemo just fine. No blown veins, a jab (breathe in when they jab--less pain or get a numb cream) I've had mine in for 2 years and its just part of me now. Looks like a little scar. I wear strapless tops, bathing suits and no one even notices. I go every 6-8 weeks to have it flushed.

You will be ok. Take Care ❤️ Tara.

Have had mine 44 months. It is only used for blood draws and scans. I don't remember if it hurt originally, but it itches sometimes now. I don't scratch it. I put numbing cream on it before it is used. Your oncologist should give you a prescription for it. Then I cover with saran wrap. A tube of numbing cream will last about a year. Good luck. Blessings Hannah
