Liver Lesion

I had Liver biospy 3 weeks ago and it came back benign on my lesion now i have to get another one because it is growing it was 4.8cc if it shows maligent , what kind of surgeries are left , I had a ablation , but the doctor said it is to big for another ablation. Thank You Helena

What a shame! I'm so sorry! Not only about the liver lesion but also about having to go through that twice...I can only imagine how stressful that is...

It's interesting that the initial one came back benign but they now think that might have been wrong. I had a similar experience when I was initially dx. I'd had a pea-sized lump in my breast in 2008, did a core needle biopsy, benign. Then two years later that very same area had a pretty large tumor, like a small broccoli growing out of the little metal piece they inserted with the first biopsy (I think?). What the docs said to me was that the original biopsy might have been drawn from a benign part of an also cancerous growth....luck (unluck) of the draw.

I don't know if they'll do surgery or maybe put you on one of the meds that are particularly effective vs. liver mets...Xeloda comes into my mind, but that could easily be wrong. But I've read here that there are treatments that can be very good for liver mets, which eases my mind for my future....

I do hope you get it figured out and dealt with effectively...Please keep us posted...
