My young neighbour has so kindly supported me during my early diagnosis and treatment only to discover yesterday that her mother has breast cancer and bone Mets. We live in UK, her mother is in South Africa. I wonder of there are any SA members? If so I'll encourage her to check in. Today she's going to find out treatment options. This is her first diagnosis. Pain management is first priority. I've suggested seeing if there is any organisation similar to Macmillan here, or the local hospice as they helped me get the pain under control until the treatment kicked in.

Hi Beryl,

That's so kind of you to help your neighbour in her time of need. Hopefully her mother will be able to access some good cancer support in South Africa. Does your neighbour plan to go visit her mother? Hopefully there are some members on here who live in South Africa who might be able to offer some support.

Sophie

I don't think she'd want to travel in current circumstances, always the risk of taking the virus to someone vulnerable.

Yes, that's always a worry. Maybe it will be an option later on.
