Thyroid Medication Change

I have been on Levothyroxin for under active thyroid for years and Walmart Pharmacy recently changed manufacturers and is replacing Levothyroxin with Euthyrox by drug manufacturer Provell Pharmaceuticals. This is the second month I have taken this new med. The meds come in a blister packet and I take one at night when I get up to use bathroom as it should be taken before certain foods.

Since this change in meds, I have been waking up with headache and heart palpitations. I have also had sudden weight gain (6lbs) in just one month.

Is anyone else here taking Euthyrox? I wonder if there are additives in this med that may be interacting with Ibrance/Letrozole?

These symptoms are troubling and my GP is simply not there for me. I called her office last week and it took three days for a person to get me a Facetime appointment in two weeks and I know I’ll need bloodwork done so that will add another week to my fears with this new drug.

I've been on thyroid meds for years, since 1973, and it seems like every time I change pcp, they want to change the dose. I've not had issues with the manufacturer of those meds, but I have recently had a problem with a change in manufacturer of the Celebrex I've been on for a long time. I have started getting all my Rxes filled at a local pharmacy in the grocery store where I shop. I live in a small, rural town where there are only two pharmacies and these local pharmacists have been really wonderful to deal with. They recognize me and call me by name and have been able to get the Celebrex switched back to the previous manufacturer. I hope you can find a way to get the thyroid meds you have been on until recently. I'd push the pharmacist. I think they have more control over the manufacturer of the med than the docs do. Everything seems so $$$ focused.......

When I first started taking palbociclib, Zoladex and letrozole, I was on Thyroxine, Armour Thyroid and Antidepressant tablets. This cocktail of drugs in my liver did not mix well. For a period of time I'm I was really worried that I was not compatible with chemo and I was at a critical stage with fighting my cancer.

I've known for years that I can't convert synthetic hormone medication thyroxine but I just took it to keep my GP happy. I stripped back all of my medication dropping the antidepressants and synthetic hormone thyroid thyroxine. I now have to buy natural thyroid medication from America. I believe that Armour Thyroid is bovine source. Over a year into the stage for journey and dropping back to 75 micrograms of of palbociclib I am able to tolerate the treatment with absolutely amazing results.

You will know if you can't convert the synthetic hormone by your energy levels pre cancer pre chemo. I suppose any change in the chemical make-up of a synthetic product or how it's packaged may affect you're very sensitive system.
