Where do you live? I know some people spoke with the manufacturer while others had their oncologist help find them local support. I was lucky and have two health insurances. I hope others can be of more help to you.
Reach out to Pfizer. They may be able to help. To talk to a Pfizer RxPathways patient care coordinator, call 1-877-744-5675 or visit Pfizer RxPathways.
I agree with everyone else. Check with Pfizer and your oncologist. If neither of those work check with your local health department. If you are in the U.S. and receive Medicare part D or military insurance, Pfizer won't help. I don't understand why. Best of luck to you. Blessings Hannah
I go through this every year. In 2019 Pfizer and Novartis sent me my medication free.
In 2019 my husband started getting his social security as he was retired. Neither company would pay or help. Every patient assistance place I contacted said I had to be below the poverty level. One prescription alone would have cost me 3,000.00 per month. Well, the pharmacist at my oncology office also helps with aid. I had all our income and expenses written down. He actually found me a patient assistance program. They are paying every bit on my cancer meds that would be my responsibility. I don't know how he did it but thank God he did.
I am in the same situation when my husband retires in a few months. We have actually put off his retirement for this very reason but he is getting tired and deserves to be abke to enjoy some retirement years. My Ibrance is going to cost us approximately $1,000/month when we loose his commercial health insurance through his employer. Currently Pfizer gives us copay assistance, when we are Medicare only we will no longer get the copay assistance. 😣
Please forgive me if this is too personal a question but what were the qualifications to be eligible for the financial assistance program you qualified for? Our only asset is our home and our only income will be our Medicare. You can message me privately if you want. I am worried sick about this.
Thanks and blessings to you.
My insurance company pays 80% and Pfizer pays the balance. Call them
have you checked into getting state assisted health plan. these plans are based on income and not necessarily assets depending on your home state
As others have said, please check with your oncologist's office and hospital. They may have a social worker who will assist you in finding grants and/or connecting with Pfizer. There are multiple foundations offering assistance with co-pays. I'm on cycle 33 of Ibrance, have Medicare and a supplement, and have never paid anything out of pocket for Ibrance. The assistance has covered the approximate $700 co-pays. I recently received a third grant--this time through assistance from Walgreens Community Pharmacy, my Ibrance supplier. Hospital social worker assisted with first grant, and second was with help from Walgreens CP. There was a period when a grant expired where the social worker helped me get it directly from Pfizer until more grant funding was available. You will have to supply tax info, but it usually goes quickly. I'm always a bit nervous when the current assistance grant ends, but so far new sources have been available when needed.
I agree with all of the others here. I have had two different drug companies help pay for drugs. My local hospital also has an aid plan. I really hope that you find help! Please update us!
I am recently returned to USA from NZ where socialized medicine meant no worries for cost. Now back in Boston and bought health insurance for hubby snd me which costs $3k/ month! Plus we each have to reach a $4k deductible before insurance kicks in. That means healthcare costs $40k/ year. So expensive… but with Ibrance costing so much per month we felt we had to get it. I will be eligible for Medicare in a few months… does anyone have any experience in costs of Medicare with Ibrance?
