Free Upcoming Radical Remission Docuseries

Just wanted to share this link where you can sign up for the new Radical Remission documentary series that runs from March 16-26. I think it's an hour each day...you can see the daily topics on the link.

When I was first diagnosed in 2017 I found the Radical Remission book very encouraging and incorporated a few suggestions that have stuck with me. I'm not so excited that the author has teamed up with Chris Wark, but she has enlisted many other capable professionals in this project too...and free is a good price! Here's the link if you want to sign up. It screens in the U.S. at 4pm Eastern Time, beginning Monday March 16th.

I saw this and was interested until I saw Chris Warks name. But as you say there are many other people listed, so I will probably check it out. I have the book, just haven’t gotten to it. Thanks for the link.

I think it’s all about money for him. What I wonder is why the Radical Remissions author invites him to join! Still, I could use a little inspiration. By the way, thanks again for the Mucosin recommendation, glad to have it this week!

I think most of the presenters are published by Hay House publishers. I could also use inspiration. I always urge people not to give up your power of critical thinking no matter who it is or what their credentials are.

He is one of many presenters. My problem with Chris Wark is his premise “Chris Beat Cancer.” His surgeon cut it out. It did not metastasize (thank goodness). He refused adjuvant chemo, and sells a program based on what he does to stay cancer free. There’s nothing harmful that I could find in the “program,” but somethings were questionable in terms of “beating” cancer, and I’m troubled that others who may be convinced to turn down adjuvant chemo. It’s an individual decision that I believe should be done once a patient has weighed the risk benefit based on medical facts. I read that Steve Jobs came to regret not pursuing medical treatment when he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Chris Wark’s surgeon beat his cancer. I wish Chris well. Kris Carr, who is totally open to holistic therapies and the power of diet, has said she would take medical treatment if available if her cancer became aggressive. She encourages people to find the best doctor for their cancer AND consider alternate therapies as a complement to traditional treatment . I find this a reasonable, intelligent approach. I have not read the book “Radical Remission,” but I will. With an open, critical mind. I will check out some of the presenters in this program. Some of them whom I recognize do have books etc to promote.

Hi Nancy,

I agree with you. I have listened to some interviews Chris has given and I wish him well. However, his situation is not the same as ours. His cancer was stage 3, so he was still at the point where he could be "cured", which he was with surgery. Cases of radical remission would really involve those of us who have metastatic disease, who have beaten the odds to stand here alive many years later.

That's why I have so much admiration and respect for Kris Carr. It's been 17 years since she was given a death sentence, but look at how healthy she is now despite her diagnosis and prognosis! Although she still has metastatic cancer, it is under control and stable. If I cannot be cured, I will settle for what she has! I also like how she is balanced in her approach and does not tell people to avoid chemotherapy, radiotherapy or other conventional treatments.

If someone wants to go a completely "natural" route they are putting themselves at great risk. I have confidence in conventional treatment, along with diet, exercise, supplements, relaxation and other factors that can help. Each cancer patient needs to do their own research and find a medical team they can trust (oncologist, GP, pharmacist, integrative doctor if possible and others) to help them in all aspects of their lives.

OK, I think I have waffled on long enough!

Well said, Sophie. I seem to ramble lately! I was also put off at Wark advising people to find an evangelical church. If you are a Christian evangelical, God bless and good luck, but what about the rest of us?

in reply tonstonerocks

I get the bit between my teeth and keep going sometimes, so I think we are the same in that respect! I don't share Chris' faith, and nor do I agree with peddling his religion for commercial gain.

Another sore point with me are these TV preachers that millions follow and buy all their books, products, etc. Just an idea of what the more known preachers are worth from preaching on live TV and promoting their products.

Pat Robertson - $100 million

Joel Osteen - $40 million I have a particular dislike of him, not sure why:)

Creflo Dollar (ironic) - $27 million and

Bill Graham - $25 million

I wonder what the authors of the popular Cancer Books earn from their books and pushing their own products, and how much they actually give back to research for cancer.

Nothing wrong with earning money, but when you make so much money off the back of others who need something, anything to believe in, and the authors of these books and products really do not contribute some of that money back to help others other than to increase their lavish lifestyle, then I question that.

Jesus would weep. It’s an obscene amount of money for a Godly person to make off preaching. Jesus said take the shirt off your back and give it to your brother. I don’t know what these guys give to charity, but they sure live in very nice houses!

I always think that if certain people (the authors of these hundreds of books on how to beat cancer) really had a method that cured their cancer and had proof that they had beaten the cancer by prominent cancer doctors, that in itself would be a miracle and that they would provide that information for free, not for money. Not all have the money to go and purchase books.

Just like with psychics. I am definitely not a believer in any of them that "can see the future or talk with the deceased." If they indeed can, it is a gift given to them by God and should be shared for free, not with paying $500 or more for a session with one of these people who are raking in millions of dollars from those who believe in them. They prey on the most vulnerable, those who have lost a parent or even worse a child. I have a friend that goes to every new "psychic" out there until she finds one who tells her what she wants to hear. The only psychic I believe in is God himself.

I had never heard of Chris Warks before bc I don't read any books on cancer at all so I googled him and was less than impressed so obviously if someone like this man is part of this group, meaning they believe he is knowledgeable enough to be part of this, it would color my thoughts about even watching this. With all that is going on with the virus, cancer right now is lower on the list right now. But I don't try any new vitamins, or just eat this or just eat that. I just guess I am old school. I do what my doctors recommend which has kept me alive this far.

Only so much one can worry about. Be careful all my friends on this board and just follow the CDC protocols. There will be enough people jumping on the band wagon to publish a book and make some money from this virus.

I don't understand how with all the thousands of books on how to cure cancer, or someone who has cured themselves, people decide which books to buy and believe that person has it right. But we all have different coping methods and for some, following some kind of new or suggested trend by an author of a book on cancer makes them feel better that they are taking extra precautions.

I love this forum board and the ladies on it. I have been on different ones in the past but find this group of ladies to be the best and most supportive and sometimes we can agree to disagree on things. So glad that I found this group and for me I don't need to watch or read anything more on cancer but it's nice to know, because I am alone so much, that I have this group I can turn to.

I stick with what I learned as a child. "I complained because I had no shoes, until I met man who had no feet" meaning there are always those people that are worse off than us.

Well said. As you say, we all cope differently. Many of these “authors” are very charismatic. And maybe many of them believe their pitch. It’s hard when you’re frightened and faced with an awful diagnosis not to be drawn to someone promising you a cure. I am not discounting the good information about mind, body and soul that many of these presenters put forth. But I am very leery of anyone steering people away from traditional medicine to drinking vegetable broth for a cure. Ultimately it is our choice what treatments to pursue, and that requires solid, verified information. I use vegetable broth to cook with, but gladly went thru radiation and chemo these last few months so I could swallow again. It worked. Scan results Monday. I thank God for the admittedly toxic traditional treatments that are prolonging my life. Meantime I will get back to juicing, meditation, yoga and some supplements that I couldn’t even swallow in November

Some people feel there is a conspiracy to hide the cure for cancer. While I agree it is very profitable for some sectors, just about everyone is touched by it, and I think if there was a blanket cure, it would be out there

My intention is not to vilify anyone, but to caution reason and choice. I will pick and choose whom I read and listen to. If I am not comfortable, I will go on to the next presenter. I keep holding Kris Carr up as a gold standard. She offers choices and encourages people to find the best doctors for their cancers and to pursue a holistic lifestyle. She is vegan, but doesn’t condemn omnivores. She is honest about her background and doesn’t proselytize. She doesn’t purport to have THE answer. Run like hell from someone who does!

Just want to add that I watched the first episode today, "Empowering Yourself" and came away feeling....empowered. :-) It was balanced, interesting and I got some good inspiration and reminders of things I'd done two years ago but had stopped. Also want to say that it seems to be available all day long, just on the one day the episode is released. Tomorrow's topic is food and diet.
