Good afternoon Survivors.

Quick question Has anyone experienced foot drop while on any of your medications. I have been in Ibrance and Letrozole which stopped working. Now I am on Piqray and Fasoldex which seem to be working but I ended up with foot drop

Hi Lilian848...Your post made me curious, so I searched "foot drop"...Had never heard of it.

Is it possible that your tumor(s) are in a place that might affect the nerves to your lower leg, e.g. sciatic (sp?)?

It doesn't really sound like a side-effect of the meds, but I'm far from expert. I'd mention it to your doc, needless to say, or phone them if you won't be going in soon? I'm not suggesting it's something to worry too much about...I definitely had weird things happening when a large tumor was active in my T12 vertebra and it all cleared up with treatment...But I'd hate for you to trip/fall, e.g....

Please let us know what you learn...

Best,

Lynn

Hi Lilian, I started on Letrozole and Denosumab and when they stopped working went on Ibrance, Faslodex and Denosumab. I didn’t experience any foot issues at all. I am now on chemo only (Capecetabine) and experience numbness in my fingers and hands; muscle tightness which makes it difficult to walk first thing in the morning and whenever I get out of a chair; and some issues with Hand/Foot Syndrome (peeling/cracking feet) and apparently I’m losing my fingerprints. Other than that, I’m doing pretty well on chemo; the side effects for me are less punishing than Ibrance and my last PET-CT scan showed a reduction in tumour size and activity. I hope that your Oncologist can help get some relief for you. Foot Drop doesn’t sound great on top of everything else you’re dealing with. Best wishes, Jan
