Has anyone with MBC had problems with their teeth? I’ve had oral surgeon cut out a tooth, had a root canal. Had teeth chip off and had to have them fixed. Just found another chip off of my front tooth. I’d always taken good care of my teeth, now it doesn’t seem like it matters.

I’ve had no problems with my teeth. I’m on IBrance/Faslodex/Xgeva. ❤️🙏❤️

Good for you! Thanks for replying!

Hi rpeacock - That's very interesting...I've not experienced that and I don't think I've read about it either, but it doesn't seem far fetched since our nails, hair and skin are weakened by the meds. I'm interested to see what other responses come in...And I'm sorry about the dental issues! Maybe our community dentist, barbteeth, will weigh in! :)

So far, no problems! But when I have had problems it seems like they all happen at once. Maybe you just got unlucky! 😩

I’ve noticed this week that I have some exposed jaw bone where I had a tooth pulled a year ago. I’ve been on Zometa for 3 1/2 years. I’m supposed to to get it again today. But I think I’m going to wait until I can further investigate next week and follow up with the dentist or GP. These meds can cause dental problems. Not always but when they do U have to take it serious. 😀

That’s true of the Xgeva I took. I had to stop taking Xgeva for 6 months.

I've been on Xgeva for six years every month with no real dental issues. Knock wood.

I had two implants (to replace root canaled teeth that had been removed). All went well, they gums and bone had grown around the implants. Then I started Ibrance and Fulvestrant and the implants began to loosen and then came out completely. I was upset to lose the teeth- and upset about the amount of money I paid to get them. But what could I do!

Sorry for all the trouble you're having. I have heard that treatment of MBC can lead to dental issues :-(
