Hospital
Kiera, I know it's hard when people scrutinize you. Hopefully in time you will not focus on th.is To some extent, i think it's normal for people to wonder at anything "different." Maybe you otherwise look so good, they can't figure it out. Good for you for getting out. I don't use any devices, and I think I look pretty "normal," but with the white hair and advancing age, I put purple streaks in my hair. I get looks. Most of the time I either don't notice or forget that I'm a bit of a spectacle. I don't care. I like it. Your 02 tank gets you out and about. Good for you! We all need to rant and vent, so please feel free. This is a difficult, isolating disease, which is why this space is so sacred.
Hi Kiera! I hope u have a great day. And stable and shrinking scans next week...Enjoy the holiday and try to keep your mind off this stupid cancer for a few days!
Blessings!
Good for you getting out and about. Don't pay any attention to those people. They may however be amazed how strong you are to still be traveling. You are inspiring.
Thanks, Yes will do now they have moved my onc appt 1 week earlier so don't think I will get results till new more and means will have to go to hospital 3 days this month
Hi Keira,
You have every right to offload and talk about your feelings. This is the right place for it!
I think it is human nature for us to worry about what others think of us. I know I do! I worry what others think of me and want to be liked by people. So it is easy to say "don't worry about what others are thinking about you" but the truth is we do worry, even when we know deep down that we shouldn't. I try to be more confident and friendly and get on with life as best I can, but I am a naturally shy person and have a hard time with crowds. I am better in smaller groups.
You are doing well to get out and about, and yes you do have a life to lead. If people are judging you then that is their problem. They do not know your circumstances. I actually like taking the bus, and would prefer to do that than drive, but it's the convenience factor for me, as I need to drive to get to work. If I was in my 60s I could qualify for a free bus pass, but I have a long way to go yet! So I do envy those who have a free bus pass.
Sophie
