First round went well- Herceptin/ perjeta. My onc is doing all he can to prevent reaction. He split drugs and ordered long infusions. It was torture- I was there from 11am to 5:30. I understand though and that’s why I have stayed with him 10 years since first bc round.
He won’t cut the infusion time- apparently that raises risk he said. Ok- just hope it works.
Thank you all for your responses, feedback and support. It makes the difference for me to get through all the bumps and hurdles. Thank you all♥️♥️💪💪

That was a very long day, so I won't complain about my 3 1/2 hours on the MRI machine today to look at my spine. You sound like you have a great ong! Those long slow drip infusions are necessary though to eliminate side effects. Wishing you the best success on your new regiment!
Next time won’t be as long...they are only 30 minutes a piece with 30 minute wait time in between...Should be out in under 3 hours...The first time there’s a large chance of reaction so they take twice as long...😀...Congrats on your first treatment! In spite of the inconvenience of going in to get the treatment, side effects are minimal to non existent...😀
That is definitely a long day. I usually enjoy a nice warm shower after a day like that to “rinse” the hospital grime off me. I hope you have a nice bath soap you like. I use L”Occitane verdana shower gel. A friend introduced it to me years ago. It’s a refreshing, light, clean bath product.
That is a long day but I guess if it minimizes risk of reaction it's worth it. Someone has said the next ones wont be as long so thats good to know. Everything crossed for you and sending big hugs your way xx
What a wonderful thing, to have a doctor who will run the gauntlet for you! Hope you do well on this regimen. God bless and heal us all in Jesus name, amen! <3
Hi Frances,
That's a long day, but it must have been reassuring to hear from your oncologist that the reason he wanted the infusion time to be stretched over a longer period of time is to help prevent a reaction. To me, that shows he cares about you and your welfare. I hope your new treatment works well for you.
All the best to you Francesca10. I hope you have a good chance of getting the better of your cancer. Sounds like you have a caring doctor. We are all praying that the scientific research discovers a cure. Hugs Marlene
