Another possible stupid question for you ladies.... Both Ibrance and Faslodex are forms of chemo correct? Any chance of transferring any of that to my infant granddaughter? Seems far fetched but I worry about those things. Thank you❤

I don't think you have to worry about that with Ibrance/Faslo.

16 years ago, when I received adriomycin (the red devil) intravenously, I was told to maybe use a separate toilet if possible or clean the seat well after I used it.

I don’t think so either. Not the same class as the IV chemo drugs. I’ve never been warned about being a possible danger to others.

I don't think so. I have never been told that is an issue. I was just told to wash my hands after handling my Ibrance pill.

I was told the same thing about washing up after handling Ibrance.

I was always told it is not a form of chemo. "IBRANCE is a targeted therapy known as a CDK 4/6 inhibitor. It is not a traditional chemotherapy. Taken in combination with certain hormonal therapies, IBRANCE works to put the brakes on cell growth in both healthy and cancer cells." Falsodex injections helps stop my body from producing estrogen, while the Ibrance (when I was on it, now on Verzenio) is an inhibitor that makes the cancer cells stop from splitting and dividing themselves into new cancer cells. As mentioned, I know two ladies that are on Ibrance, one is a school teacher with 5th graders and another one is a nurse.

Hello! Please read the cautions included with each ibrance package. There should be specific instructions to avoid contact with all bodily fluids of the patient. So yes, be extremely careful around your infant: wash hands thoroughly and avoid sharing drinking utensils but especially wash after handling the meds.In the beginning we even avoided any sexual contact, but it seems it’s not risky for the man. Well, that’s been my experience but the caution. Bout bodily fluids from the meds user is definitely in the literature.

Take good care… I’m so sorry for your situation. 😘
