Neutrophils Low

My neutrophils dropped to 0.6 this month even though I am now on the lowest dose of Ibrance. I just can’t seem to be able to take my Ibrance as intended. I take for three weeks but each cycle I have to wait three weeks for my neutrophils to get above 1.0 so I can start the next cycle. Does anybody else have this issue.

Hi yes I had low counts every month down to 0.6 but last October started having a nupogen injection on my week off and bloods have now been good since

Take care x

I asked him about the injection but he didn’t think it would work so I guess I’m stuck in this cycle.

It seems to be working for Nannymop! Can you ask him to give you a trial on it? I am able to talk to my oncologist about anything so I make bargains with him. If you do this and it doesn’t work I’ll never ask for that again! My other suggestion would be to ask about different dosing protocols. My oncologist said if 75 mg didn’t work (after being dropped monthly from 125 to 100 and then to 75), he would try 5 days on and 2 off and repeat. I think there are other modifications that can be tried as well. Waiting three weeks allows the Ibrance levels to get really low so they aren’t as effective. Maybe you need to ask for a second opinion? Elaine

My first 10 cycles was always having low white blood count then tried nupogen in October so have completed the last 7 cycles with no problem I just have the injection 3days befire blood test hope this helps you xx

He is a great oncologist and we get along well. The shot is extremely expensive and he said it doesn’t work all the time and would have to be monthly.

Once I went on 75 mg my neutrophils went to 1.1 and are now up to 1.4 the last couple of months. Maybe yours will start improving also. I don’t do anything except eat a well balanced diet and take my Ibrance at dinner time when I eat my biggest meal. Good luck!

Try drinking Pawpaw tea.

I’m on 75mg too and still dropping my neutrophils so I just take week off. And it upsets my stomach. So maybe ask your onc about switching to week on and week off. Good luck!

I had the same issue. I’m taking a break from Ibrance, but continuing Faslodex every 4 weeks.

Hi Sarcie and ladies responding...how do you feel when your neutrophils drop? I’m on my third cycle of Ibrance (and Letrozole) and I feel like a train wreck and I’m always cold.

in reply toLibra48

The Letrozole gave me wicked hot flashes for the first year but have stopped now. I am always tired and feeling run down. Can’t seem to function. When I mentioned this to my oncologist he said low neutrophils wouldn’t make me feel like this, just make me highly susceptible to infections. I don’t know what makes me feel Iike this but something is.
