Mouth sore or Mucositis?

Hi all,

I’m finishing up my 3rd week of MATCH trial on Erdafitinib. For about 8 or 9 days, I’ve had what feels like a “burnt” roof of mouth. Like after you ate a piping hot slice of pizza. The little center line down the roof of my mouth is swollen. Is this the mouth sores side effect or something else? I always thought mouth sores were like canker sores. Anyway, it’s driving me crazy and pretty painful.

Yes, I’m just starting to use it. But I was more curious if this roof of my mouth soreness was actually a side effect or something else.

I suspect it’s a side effect as it is very common with numerous chemos, cells simply get damaged

I too get mouth sore from some of the meds. Doctor gave me a paste to put on them, but hard to apply. I bought Orajel antiseptic mouth wash for mouth sores. And it really works good. Took my sore away and numbs the pain. Over the counter.
