I let them know!

I just spent 45 minutes telling the pharmacy co. about my experience on Ibrance. I felt it was something I could do to help others with cancer and they needed to be told about the side effects. Plus it made me feel better!!!

Our pharmacy here (Ontario,Ca) always asks each time I pickup my Ibrance. It’s good but sometimes they ask pretty personal questions! Which I would prefer to discuss with my family dr or oncologist.

But that’s just me ! 😊

The questions I answered were not personal. Just about when I started, tests I've had, side effects & what I take in dealing with the side effects.

What are your side effects from Ibrance?

The side effects started about 2 months after I started taking ibrance. Hair thinned in back, muscle aches, joint pain, lining of nose getting dry & causing it to bleed, insomnia and chemo brain fog. Also not as much energy.

That’s interesting about your nasal lining. I started Ibrance in late August. Since New Years I notice my nasal passages are dry. I assumed it is because of the cold, dry winter air where I live. What have you learned about that please?

I have the same problems with my nose; I usually do in winter. It might to worse with the Ibrance; I never thought about it since it's fairly normal for me. When I go to bed, a take a little vaseline on a q-tip and rub it inside my nose. I pinch my nose to get it spread around. You don't need to use a lot. It really seems to help. At least it feels much more comfortable.

Those sound exactly the same as what I am experiencing. Thanks for sharing. I really do think it helps to not feel alone out here in the MBC world. Take care. 💕

I first had my nose bleed in Aug. & the onc nurse thought it was because I had been in the air conditioning a lot, but then started happening again in October. I use a saline solution when it is bad. Also in Nov. I started taking an extra zinc tablet which has helped me. I never thought about using Vaseline. My nose doesn't itch though. I search the internet for ideas to my problems. Have a great Friday everyone!

I have dry sinus with nose bleeds for weeks then it subsided and now still dry but no bleeding. I use a nasal moisturizing spray that soothes dry nasal passages and increased fluids throughout the day. This has helped me! Now if only I could help my hair and dry skin!! 😢

Hi, biotin has helped my skin and hair. I started out taking 1000 mcg, which is one tablet, that was helpful but not enough so I've started taking two tablets, one morning and evening & that is taking care of the problem for now.

Yes, you may need to look into a different shampoo and conditioner. Take care.
