Ibrance to expensive

My payment is 600.00 a month.

I am on Medicare with a supplemental Ins. that only pays 5% after co-pay is paid up.

Since the cost of Ibrance is so expensive that 5% is extremely high.

I can not get any assistance because I am on Medicare and my household income is to high.

Are there any other resources that can help get the cost down?

Pfizer has a copay assist coupon . If you search ibrance on the web the info info comes up. I have a $300.00 a month copay that the coupon reduces to zero. It is not based on income. I am not sure if it works with Medicare, but if you have a supplemental insurance it might. It is worth looking into. Many drug companies offer something like this for expensive meds.

I have Medicare and a supplement and am on Cycle 11 of Ibrance/Letrozole with co-pay of $650 per month. Have you checked with your oncologist's office or hospital? When I started last October, they connected me to the Patient Advocate Foundation and I received a $5000 grant that covered co-pays for several months. When that grant was used up, the community pharmacy connected me to the PAN Foundation for another $5400. In June I received notice that PAN grant ran out, and oncologist office connected me to their social worker who helped me apply for the Pfizer patient assistance program. Someone in this forum had mentioned that Pfizer's annual income limit was $60,000 so I was pretty sure I'd qualify. I was accepted, with notice that Pfizer will ship Ibrance to me free of charge through December.

I am not eligible to reapply to Patient Advocate until October--apparently there is a one-year time limit. You can check the foundations online and see if you qualify and also check with Pfizer. It's so sad and nerve-wracking that in addition to dealing with mbc and the drug side effects, we have the additional concern of finances.

Contact Pfizer directly. They will pay 100%. You need to reapply every year.

My doctor's office called to set me up for copay assistance. My copay is $1500.00 and I pay $0. The drug company covers my copay.

I applied directly to Pfizer and I have received my Ibrance directly from the Pfizer Company. Try them directly and there are Cancer support outfits that can help. No one can afford all that cost, but it's your life. Social workers at the treatment center you go to can guide you. Good luck!
