Just checking in
This month I am dragging. I have not been good about my green drinks. which make a big difference for me. Although my mood has been pretty stable, I have had a few nights where the Ibrance commercials caused a tear or two. I’m doing pretty well since 2014 so shouldn’t complain, but the Ibrance commercials remind me this is a progressive disease. Working full time and have some great vacation plans to look forward to. Thanks for asking.
I'm currently in the worst few days of the cycle of Ibrance. I hate those commercials! I don't want to be reminded about the cancer when I'm watching tv and trying to relax. I go for blood work next week, which I try not to get too anxious about, but I don't have to worry about scans until May or June...how about you Marianne?
Hi, Bluebird! Just curious as to when your "worst few days" are on Ibrance? Not sure if mine is typical, but I seem to feel most achy and sore joints on the week I am off Ibrance! What is your experience? XO Linda
Hi, Linda! My worst days on Ibrance are usually between days 18 to 20 give or take a day before and after. Yesterday was day 21 and I still didn't feel good but today I feel much better as I start the week off. I don't know if my pattern is typical or yours is...I have a friend who also tells me that she feels the worst on the week off from Ibrance.
Hi Marianne. Doing ok. Had some scares with sudden elevated Ca125! But pet scan and mri did not reveal anything. Last blood test the number went down from 52 to 38, grateful for that but I never had it that high! Crazy stuff and as u know it’s hard every month to go through the same of checking your blood, but that’s life and I am grateful for all. How r u? Have not seen your post for awhile.
Hi. I’m good. Been really buzy. I’m tired all the time but that’s life. I was buzy planning a post marathon party. My daughter ran the Boston Marathon for Dana Farber cancer clinic for me. It was a very humbling day and we had a blast. Of course it poured buckets all day but that didn’t stop her. She is truly my bright light
That’s beautiful marianne88! Keep busy, I find that to be the best as it takes your mind off things for awhile. I started working part time just to keep myself occupied. Stay well.
Hey M.A.! so good to see you! I am well, 17 cycles and no progression, hair has stopped falling out for the most part. Taking a rowing class because I was getting no aerobic exercise. It is very hard, but dang fun! I just read how you are above, good to hear the the news is good, and your daughter, one tough cookie!! My best to you and all that are here. Michelle
Hi Marianne. My Mbc is Er/pr + and her neg. I’ve been on ibrance (100- couldn’t handle 150) and Femara and xgeva for about 14 cycles. Side effects have been manageable. My Mets are in sternum, spine, pelvis and hips. Hadn’t had a scan since 4/17. Last weeks pet scan came back no evidence of recurrence. I’m starting to really believe that I might be around for a while!
Hi Marianne,
I find that I have the most fatigue the last few days of my 21 day cycle and the week I’m off. I’m on 125 mg. Going for scans in May to check results. I’ll keep everyone posted🙏
Hi Marianne, I'm mid way through my 3rd cycle of ibrance with letrozole. I have few side effects. Mostly fatigued, but I'm still working full-time. It helps me feel like my life is still somewhat normal. I have Mets to my left lung and I'm er/pr+, her2-. I will have my first set of scans mid-may. I had a second week delay starting my third cycle because of neutropenia, but I'm back on the 125 mg. Mary
