Just curious as to side effects any of you are experiencing if you are receiving monthly injection of Xgeva? I had no problem whatsoever with first two injections but, after receiving third injection this past Friday, I have had excessive pain to back and joints. Still there after nearly a week since injection.
I have appointment tomorrow to ask about this, but thought I'd throw the question out to my MBC sisters. Thanks for any responses! Linda in Seattle

SeattleMom. I started every 2 months. The last shot I had my temples hurt so bad along with pressure in my head I thought my head was going to explode. I even had bleeding in my eye. My Dr did tell me walking every day can work as well as the Xgeva.
Thanks for your response! It's been suggested to me that I might be receiving "over treatment." I'm going to start walking more!! Thanks again, Selmac!
Hello. I was on Zometa with no troubles or SE. My Onc switched me to Xgeva and I had a terrible problem with bladder infections. I switched back to Zometa and I am feeling much better. Is it an option for you to switch to Zometa and see if that makes a difference? I hope you feel better soon! My thoughts are with you.
Thanks for your reply, Shelly! My most recent shot was followed by about a week of joint pain and back aches (pretty severe.) My main question is: how long does the medical community recommend that patients remain on these drugs, as they can eventually cause erosion to the jaw? I'll see what I can find out. Thanks again--hope you are feeling better, too!
