That is wonderful news! I just got my new course of treatment from my oncologist. We are going to give Keytruda a try. It is an immunology treatment, hoping this will kick the tumor in the humerus. (No pun intended) Hopefully this will work not only for now but in the long term.

Is anyone being treated at Anschutz Cancer Center in Denver, CO.?

I would really appreciate any information or comments you can give me about that center or any others you have had experience with in Co.

So happy about your bone scan. It always gives the moral a boost like nothing else when we hear good new like that.

Hugs and prayers to all.

Wish we could have celebrated with a dinner, but I'm dealing with a really bad case of gerd. We are getting ready to take a trip in our fifth wheel trailer. I started throwing up last night. Can't eat much, and the medicine doesn't seem to be working. We've planned this trip for 6 months and I hope I don't mess it up. I had such a good beginning yesterday with my bone scan.

Hi Petreep,

What medicine are you on? Is that what's causing the gerd? The fact that you had a good bone scan result is really cause for celebration! Hope you enjoy your trip. Even if you have a few off days, it'll be worth it in the long run! Bring your anti-nausea meds and have a good time. Kats3

Unfortunately the gerd won't let up. The pills don't seem to be working much. I am afraid to eat much and losing weight. So now I'm 600 miles from home trying to decide whether to go back home or try to make it. I'm taking arimidex, gabapintin, atorvastatin, clonidine, and nexium, sulcrafate, and renitidine for gerd.

Thinking of you....how are things going??? Are you still on the road?? Where was your goal or place to get to?? You sure are on a lot of meds...it is so hard to know what to take internally to help...or will it hurt...keep us posted...

Unfortunately it is a lot of meds. They just gave me 3 for the gerd. I think it is finally starting. Still not eating much. We left from Kearney, Mo, that's north of Kansas City headed for Bar Harbor, Me. Made it there this evening. Thanks for thinking of me.

Petreep,

Are you feeling better with the gerd? And did you make it through your trip? I sure hope that there's a medicine out there that can help you out. Sending you best wishes for better days ahead! Kats3

The first day of travel was awful and it's hard to find things I could eat. So that evening I was in tears. We discussed going home the next day. Morning rolled around and I wasn't ready to give up on my trip. So we continued on. I'm just not eating much. I do feel a little bit better. Hopefully that continues. Thanks for asking.

Hi Petreep,

A friend of mine recommended that I buy Premier Protein, a high protein drink, at Walgreen's or on-line @ Premier Protein.com. Or at Cosco's.

I just bought 2 4- packs of vanilla. It has 30 grams of protein, which is great! The best part is that there's only 1 gram of sugar! Each carton has 160 calories + 24 vitamins and minerals. This is a good meal substitute if you don't feel like eating. I just had one tonight. I poured it over ice. It was very good! It comes in vanilla, chocolate, coffee, bananas + cream and I think strawberry.

Give it a try. It's a little pricey but I think worth it.

I hope your gerd goes away soon, but with all the medicines you're on, you may have to try to manage as best as you can with it.

Hope you enjoyed or are enjoying your Maine trip. I'm going in August. Best wishes + prayers being sent your way. Kats3

Thanks for the info. I might try that. Thanks for the prayers. I am feeling better but afraid to eat much. I really want to some fried shrimp before I go home. Can't get good like that at home.
