Has anyone tried acupuncture for neuropathy in your feet? I have mostly tingling in my toes and ball of foot and acupuncture has been suggested. Would be interested in hearing anyone's experiences with this treatment. Thanks!

Yes I have tried it. It helps a bit to relieve pain. I still have nerve pain in my feet and almost 8 months chemo free. In time I know it will go away. Back to lifting my weights again so at least my bones don't ache.lol

Thanks for your reply. How does weight lifting help with bone ache and what type of lifting do you do?

I been weighing for about 20years until I broke my foot 3 years ago. Gained weight and then of course B.C. game along. Weight lifting helps strengthen your bones and lose weight. I am on Anastroloze and it causes joint and muscle pain. I find weightlifting helps lessen the pain. There is an app called Body space which is free and offers free programs.😊

I had terrible nerve pain in the area where I had lumpectomy & radiation. It felt like I was being stabbed with an ice pick. My options were to have more surgery to remove the scar tissue, no guarantee that it would help, or go to a pain clinic. I didn't like either option. So in desperation I decided to try acupuncture. I didn't know anything about it, but I was willing to try. By luck, I found a wonderful acupuncturist who got rid of my pain in 10 months. I only go now when I need a reset. I highly recommend giving it a try.

I went to the pain clinic and did a nerve block in November and it helped with the nerve pain from my mastectomy until end of March. Had another done early June but it did not do anything. Maybe acupuncture will help with it. Thanks for sharing your experience.

Hi there - yes I've tried acupuncture as well, and found it did help a bit with the nerve pain, it's not yet been a full year since I finished my chemo therapy, but the tingling and numby feel are definitely getting less. I had also purchased those foot roller massage item(not the needle type but the knobby ones) and when I am working and sitting at my computer or watching TV I roll my feet across that as well - I've find it may be helping - it is definitely relaxing.

Thanks for replying. I finished chemo in March and the tingling is getting worse, don't know if I can take it for a year or more! Really hope acupuncture helps.

I did acupuncture throughout all my treatments - chemo, radiation- found it helped with a lot of symptoms. For the neuropathy what has REALLY made a difference is chelated magnesium . I take 2 at bedtime - also helps with sleep!
