Hi, am starting on Arimidex tomorrow. If anyone has any information to share and if you feel comfortable sharing it, it would be most appreciated.

Thanks to all my sisters and fellow Warriors out there.

Drugs like Arimidex have side effects for some people but for the most part it's smooth sailing. I had a bit of joint pain but tried out other AI drugs until I found one that worked best for me. SHARE has an AI and Tamoxifen support group. Our next meeting is on May 18 at 6 pm at SHARE's NYC office, then we'll be meeting monthly after that. (I'm one of the facilitators.) If you're in the NY area, come in. If not, we've had people call into meetings. I'm putting the link to the meetings here.

Good luck!

Well, I did. I said above that I had joint pain and tried other AIs until I found the one that worked for me. But everybody is different and has different experiences with drugs. I suggest you keep a journal of how you feel on arimidex, if you notice anything different, joint pain, or anything unusual.

Hi DoubleCola59 ! There are quite a few women on here who talked on other posts about their experiences with Arimidex and other AIs. If you type Arimidex into the top right search box, you'll find all the places it's mentioned. Good luck :)

I just got a rx for arimidex and my main 2 concerns are the joint pain and bone density loss. I'm scheduled for a bone density scan and there is a shot they can give you to increase bone density. Have you looked into that at all? Just curious as to how others are approaching it.

I too am wondering how bad the side effects will be, have read such horrible things, but everyone has such different experiences.

Good luck to you!

I had very slight joint pain in the beginning, but nothing major. However, my sister had a lot of pain. I never had any other reactions.

I was on Arimidex since a 2006 for right b/c diagnosis. In 2015, I had b/c in left breast. So much for the Arimidex. We don't know if the Arimidex prevented recurrence in right breast, but it sure didn't do anything for the left.

That being said, he switched me to Exemestane (Aromosin), after my left breast diagnosis.

It's all a crap shoot

Oh, yes, and I do take calcium supplements & get bone scan tested. So far, nothing bad!

Not what you're looking for?
