TRT and testicular shrinkage

Hoping someone might be able to help me out. I currently went on TRT about 6 months ago and had to get prescribed by a wellness center as DR's won't prescribe it unless your numbers are extremely low. And since I was just inside the low band of 280 and being over 40 they said I was normal. I have asked the wellness clinic about ways to reduce or stop the shrinkage and pretty much said that's a risk which we all knew and I knew and still am OK with it but seeing if anyone else has had any luck with something. My regular DR is pretty much hands off with this because wasn't prescribed by her which I understand. My biggest issue is that they have shrunk so sometimes one of them will work it's way up into pelvis area but will drop right back out when pushed down. This however is the only negative I've had and the positives are astronomical! My sex drive is high, my energy level is high and overall just happier. So it's definitely worth the trade off but hopeful someone has been in my shoes and found a fix.

I don't know if picture would do it justice or even needed as without a before they just look small lol. I will throw one in comments so don't have to see it.

Thanks for any and all help! Have a blessed day!

Not entirely true. All pics are allowed on this sub forum (sensitive issues for men). The upload icon works.

They are not allowed on the penis health forum and the upload icon is greyed out. They are allowed on the men’s health sub, but a dick pic will be removed.

It makes sense when you put it that way. I was wondering why it allowed me to post and while searching this forum before i posted there were plenty other ones lol. But either way I don't wanna create any issues so figured best to remove them. Wasn't sure if it would actually help anyone answer as only seeing the after..but maybe give some a good laugh at my expense which is fine by me as well.

The only way to potentially get your testicles to grow back is to either quit TRT or take Human Growth Hormone while on TRT. The latter will force your body to tell your testes to make sperm again thereby increasing their size. The success of either can be dependent on how long you’ve been on TRT. For some men, the tested permanently shut down when they’ve been on TRT for a long time and cannot be “restarted”. This is how guys go sterile. My functional doc talked about this with me and suggested HGH and I took it for a while, but I just didn’t feel like it was worth it just so my balls were bigger. And in my case I’m done with having more kids so I’m OK with becoming sterile. The benefits I’ve had with TRT are so worth all of it. I spent a lifetime of low energy, lethargy, inability to put on muscle, irritability that all stopped when I had sufficient testosterone in my system.

I will have to talk to Dr and see if he will give me some more info on HGH. It's crazy that he wouldn't tell me to begin with unless it's because he can't offer it. Being sterile doesn't bother me either but the size is killing me lol. I knew shrinkage was a possibility but didn't realize just how much. I also agree that it's been great since I got on it. My energy, mood and libido has been absolutely amazing! I highly recommend it to everyone of my friends that they need to at least look into it. Being over 40 and feeling like I did in my 20's and sometimes even better is a great feeling!

The testes will shrink while on TRT. This is because they no longer need to produce testosterone. You need to be aware that once on TRT, coming off it can make osteoporosis more likely. I was told this by my endocrinologist. He said that I would be on TRT for the rest of my life. I was put in TRT as I medically needed it. If you are considering experimenting with any other of your hormones you would be well advised to consult an endocrinologist, an expert in hormonal issues, rather than a wellness centre.

I would ask your provider about Human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG ) not Human Growth Hormone (HGH) which is different.

HCH can be used in conjunction with TRT to ensure that your natural system continues to work as it stimulates the pituitary into producing its own testosterone in conjunction with the exogenous testosterone that you’ll be taking. Can be a little bit harder to get your dose right because you’re not sure what your body is producing so you’re not sure what you need to add to it so it’ll be a balancing act over period of time with blood tests. However, that should reverse shrinkage it will also have some of the benefits in respect of fertility if something that is required. I believe through benefits as well. It would also assist if you were ever to stop TRT and that your natural production is not completely shut down.

Thank you for the info. I have set up an appointment to talk to my Dr in 2 weeks about this. It sounds like this is exactly what I need. I am not worried about the fertility part but definitely would like to get my boys back lol. Hopefully it will help put them back to their normal size.

Please arrange to see a specialist endocrinologist Precursors and hormones are not to be messed with. If your testosterone is low you should be looking at why it is low. This can sometimes be because of cancer in the pituitary gland and an MRI would confirm.

Also remember that testosterone is not produced in the pituitary gland. LH is produced in the pituitary gland and that in turn causes the testes to produce testosterone

In my case, I had no growth in my pituitary gland but my pituitary is smaller than it should be. My levels of other hormones, when tested, were within normal range.
