If you are over 65 once a year at a Wellness Exam you are given a Cognitive Assessment, mostly developed from the Montreal Cognitive Assessment . The three minute version is called the Mini Cog. Repeat 3 words and draw an analogue clock and put a time they tell you on it. I consider the test humiliating, degrading, and insulting. Added to Medicare under Obama care. What say you?

Mini Cog
If they do it to everyone, and it's free, it seems like a good idea. Nice to get a stamp of approval from the Doc that the grey cells are still working.
Nothing is free. It is paid for by the Government (Submit) which only has the money they take by taxes from citizens. The only reason it is done here in the U. S. is it is a revenue stream for the practice, (Dr's office). Keep in mind medicine in the U. S. is a "for profit" business. Also this was put into the system under Obama, a Democrat, (Blue). I am a Republican (Red) have do not trust the administration of the test or the purpose of the test. All Democrats have sinister motives, it is their nature.
If you find it degrading, humiliating, and insulting then tell them to f-off and don't do it.
It's still your choice I guess? Whilst we have regular checks on heart, blood, colon cancer, PSA blah blah, we don't do a dementia test here yet. We can opt out of all of these tests (paid for by our taxes as you will know).Would I take it, yes. I don't think there's a down side, I'd rather know, and the sooner something is diagnosed the soon they can give you something to slow it down. All of the dementia drugs depend on early diagnosis.
Speaking personally, I visited a friend today who probably has a year or two to live, he has dementia and fails a more detailed test, in that one he has to identify a lion and camel, and he can't. His wife would greatly have benefited from an early diagnosis to get treatment. That said, he doesn't fit in this category as he's 53.
