The Role of the Role Model

Guys, what has been your experience with positive male role models, particularly in shaping your development as a man?

As a child I didn't have a [positive male role model as my own father is/was (i dont know if he's dead or alive) a convicted pedophile. He was sentenced to 12 years in prison for abusing me and my sister and lots of other kids.

I found one male role model in the father of an ex girlfriend.

Another I found in my martial arts teacher. Strangely he doesnt think of himself as being worthy of the tag "role model" but he is.

Both (cumulatively) replaced what was lost through my own father and helped me become the man I am today.
