I had stent fitted 8 years ago, all been fine until last summer, heart went into AF permanently. No pattern either. Now on apixobam and solatol. Doctor referred me for cardioversion to reset heart beat to sinus rhythm. Anyone had this procedure?? What's it like??

Had mine in November for a AF of 125/130 but an EF of 15/18%.

They tried treating me with IV digoxin/magnesium and then decided that it was my thyroid causing the issues, tried treating that but it wasn’t responding quick enough.

You have a general anaesthetic and know nothing about the actual procedure until you wake up with a ‘normal’ heart rate.

I was an inpatient anyway and stayed for a couple more days, but I think if you recover well and there’s no issues, you can go home once the effects of the anaesthetic have worn off.

It’s a very easy, routine procedure.
