It's 16 weeks since my HA and angioplasty, today I had a follow up appointment with the cardiologist at Scarborough Hospital.

I was well impressed, my appointment was scheduled for 9.00am, I arrived 15 minutes early....before 9.00am I'd had my BP taken, been weighed and had an ECG.

Just after 9.00am I was sat with the consultant, we spent half an hour chatting, the outcome being two meds have been stopped, should help with occasional dizziness when I stand up, I've got to shed a few more pounds...I've lost a stone since the HA and I've been discharged with a very positive prognosis that by continuing with my current lifestyle and strict adherence to taking my meds I have a long and healthy life in front of me.

The second bit of good news is that after my first call from the rehab team last week I had the second one today, I'm enrolled on a myHeart online rehab course, details of which I received within an hour of putting the phone down, my pulse-oximeter is in the post and we have another call booked for next week.

Thank you NHS
