Hi all, I had a heart attack on the 1st Nov 2016. I had a stent put in, but in doing this, they damaged another part of the artery and had to put a 2nd stent in to fix it. I was in high dependency for about 24 hours, then transferred back to the heart ward. After 8 hours, I felt unwell and was quickly transferred back to the high dependency ward. I then had to go through another angioplasty as I had developed a blood clot and the stents were blocked, giving me another heart attack. They managed to suck the blood clot out, but could only partially open my arteries. I then managed to get pneumonia 2 days after being released from hospital and had to be taken back in. Has anyone else been through a similar procedures.
Angioplasty gone wrong. : Hi all, I had... - Sudden Cardiac Ar...
Angioplasty gone wrong.
Thank God NO i didnt have any of the horrendous problems you suffered what bad luck, so sorry you had to go through all that, hope to hear that all is well with you now MARTYJB , X Gill
Thanks for your reply Gill. I am getting better, but still have a lot of breathing problems. At least I am moving in the right direction.
Sounds so stressy hope you are OK. Yes while I was in hospital we had a death following Stent fitting.... blood clot... the opennheart surgery... then sadly Victor died. There are always risks to any procedure..... we always expect things to be perfect but they are often not so. I think I would be certainly dead within the next few months if I had not had the Stent fitted. So any life extention beyond a few months is a bonus. I saw the young 18 year old girl on children in need.. she had and knows... she will die by the time she is 25.... due to a genetic ageing disease. It inspired me to realise how luckyou we are and to cherish every day. It's hard and it ain't easy buddy... but stick with it and make the most of the extra time we have been given. Good luck.
Oh dear you have been unlucky. I hope everything has been fixed and you can go forward from this point. Good luck to you. I hope you have a speedy recovery .
I hope it works out for you. Fingers crossed. We all have a different experience looks like you drew the short straw. keep us informed.
What a bad experience you've had, however you're here telling us about it so that's a step on the right road.
Stay positive and "always look on the bright side of life"
Hi thanks for your support. To follow this up, I have just had a call from my doctor to say they have prescribed me the wrong dose of medication. LOL.
However on a more positive note, I was at my rehab appointment and they say I am not ready for rehab yet, but will be at the start of th year. So it will be onwards and upwards.
