Hi sorry you've been ill - it's an awful shock isn't - you can't believe it's happened to you! At least with a stent they've found the problem and you should be ok in the future. Best of luck!

Hi, hope you feeling a bit better. it does get easier day by day. rest, relax and make whatever changes you need to make. I had cardiac arrest just over 3 months ago and it does knock your confidence. but it does get better, join rehab classes when invited and see if you GP can point you direct of emotional support.

yes 2 stents in LAD. all unexpected as always been fit and healthy, lots of walking, cycling and no junk food! had low cholesterol and normal blood pressure, no family history. So little I can change in terms of lifestyle which is what worries me. Had anxiety course, waiting for 121 to anxiety support. Most days I'm ok but then anxiety just comes on. Today I did a 5 mile walk :-). Rehab at hospital going well too.

You should try Mindfulness to help with the anxiety. Did and does wonders for me. Look for a local class

Yes it's something inintend to do. A couple of quick searches for local class drawn a blank though

do you always wonder the odds of having another? have you changed your way of eating, exercising?

It's a constant worry... I get that tightness/acid feeling in the centre of my chest and I think I'm gonna have another 1 and die..... I was told smoking was to blame so I stopped immediately. Also I haven't had any red meat either and have quite anything with fat in it... including my beloved swiss cheese. I'm going for rapid reduction in cholesterol to reduce the risk of another attack. I also haven't had a drink since the attack either.

wow, i too was a smoker who had switched to ecigs. i drank a lot of soda. i also have a thyroid issue with rapid weight gain.

they are now saying that sugar is more of a culprit than fat??

hard to know what to think or believe with the amount of stuff i have read.

i do eat healthier. i stopped smoking the ecigs and dont drink soda , i might have had 5 since january. for me thats good

we eat mostly fish, chicken. i usually eat cereal in the morning. try to eat fruit every day.

i dont exercise as i should. i think next year when i dont have to pay for hubbys health insurance i will be able to afford a gym.

i just hate wondering what the risk is for a second and i too think everything is another one coming.

also, do you sometimes feel it in there

Haha.... I'm don't think one is able to feel it!! But I sure do imagine I feel it... I had an unusual feeling of an air-lock being cleared in my artery... like a flutter... I could feel the blood bubbling... haha... I thought maybe it was the Stent blocking up.and. trying to clear.... but again I think it's my imagination!!! Have you had any similar.feelings or thoughts???

right after it was put in i could feel the tenderness of it being placed. it eventually went away mostly. sometimes i think i still feel it?
