RLS and Neuro pain
H, pregabalin/Lyrica is a treatment for nerve pain as in Fibromyalgia. having the MS diagnosis, too, makes things more complicated. But, Lyrica is way out there on the med charts for treating RLS. The modafanil, which we call Provigil i the US, is designed to help with daytime sleepiness, so is only used during the day. I know a few ladies taking that last one, and it does help them stay alert, but it may be helping you too much. When you say pins and needles, are you talking about actual pins and needles feeling, like after your foot has "falken asleep, or do you describe your rLS as ins and needles. I am asuming you have a diagnosis of rLS, that urge to move, et c. People with MS are a pretty high % at risk for developing RLS, but it does not go the other way around. rLS does not lead to MS. BUt, Lyrica is for nerve pain only like post shingles neuralgia, plus Fibro, but is not used at all very often to treat RLS. is it helping you? Or why are you asking? IT has never been approved to help RLS, and there are studies of you wouldl like them. One more question for your question is how long have you been taking Lyrica, since we aRE all different in many ways, but the RLS pulls us together.
thanks your reply, taking lyrica 6 months no side effects but my wife begs to differ
Hi I tried pregabalin and they didn't suit me. I was on another planet and kept falling asleep
One minute I was on my computer the next I was on the floor.I was awake all night and felt really ill. We are not all the same and I hope they will be ok for you.
Good luck Eve
lyrica suits me for nerve pain and the modafinil keeps me awake
Fibromyalgia & RLS can be a result of a toxicity caused by oxalates stored in the tissues.
A low oxalate diet helps enormously. Go to tryinglowoxalates.com for helpful information and lists of high oxalate foods to avoid and low oxalate foods to safely eat. Taking Calcium Citrate and Vitamin B complex supplements also helps eliminate oxalates stored in the body and bloodstream.
It works - without medication! Search the web for 'oxalates and ...' fibromyalgia, RLS, and MANY other maladies.
just starting taking swnason triple complex magnesium that includes calcium, we'll see n fingers x
yes we are all different, shame as what is good for one is no good for another
Sorry to hear you are finding no relief to your struggles. The Vitamin B was just a supplement to the rest of the regime - in particular, cutting oxalate intake. Following a low oxalates diet has been the main difference for me, and the Calcium Citrate helps the body eliminate oxalates from the system.
Keep searching tallula, and I hope you find an answer soon.
