I'm taking 2400mg Gabapentin in 4 doses from 4.30 pm. I have no rls at all during the day but I'm waking up at around 4.30am with slight symptoms. After a quick walk-around it goes away but then I can't fall back asleep. I'm considering re trying pregabalin as I seem to be taking so many pills and then I forgetovum k and take them later than I should. I can only get 300 and 400mgs where I live Can I just stop and take pregabalin. It made me feel dizzy the last time I took it but maybe I didn't give it a chance. What is the equivalent and what time should I start taking it and in what dosages. Thanks for all the great advice you all give
I have an appointment with my neuro tomorrow but although she is lovely, she doesn't seem to know much about rls.

Is the weight gained by overeating because you feel hungry or is it caused by something else For example, if I have a strict diet will I still put on weight. Im really fed up of taking all these gabapentin pills. We only have 300 and 400mgs here in Greece and as you say we cant absorb more than 600 at a time. If I took 800 at a time what would happen. Instead of 4 x 600mgs could I take 3 x 800
It is mainly caused by increased appetite. And because it can make a person tired by decreased exercise. So if you stay on your strict diet and don't decrease your exercise and activity you should be OK.
I don't know exactly for 800 mg but I do know if you took 900 mg it would be the same as taking 540 mg.
I take 100mg pregabalin two hours before bed and I find that when I wake in the morning I need to move slow or I can lose my balance. It takes a while for the 'groggies' to wear off. Kudos to you for handling 300! I guess you worked up to it slowly?
I will say, though, that it has been helpful for my PLMS (it seems). It really helps reduce my neck pain (whiplash) so I don't wake after four hours of sleep.
I am taking 75 mg Pregabalin every day, have been on this dose for most of this year (too many bad side effects at higher doses - cognitive fog, balance problems, etc). I have been careful about not letting my appetite run away from me. Appetite increase is not a problem now, but I did notice an increase in appetite when I was briefly on 150 mg). So this year I have managed to continue to eat pretty much the same way as I did before I started on Pregabalin. However despite all this I have put on about 2 kilos.
