I’m in the process of weaning off prami and while I’m still in the early stages and having symptoms, I’m struggling with wanting to just speed up the process. I told my doctor that I wasn’t ready to start a new medication and I’m hoping for an iron infusion to be approved, I wonder if starting a gabapentin medication would be helpful during the DA withdrawal process. Any thoughts?

Nope it doesn't help while you are on a DA nor until you are off the DA for several weeks and your symptoms have settled. Ask your doctor for a low dose opioid to temporarily to help you. I would recommend buprenorphine or methadone as they are long lasting. Most of the others last only 4 to 6 hours and need to be taken that often or you will have mini withdrawals. If you are prescribed one of the others be sure you are given enough to take them that often. If she is reluctant emphasize the temporarily.
