I was at work one day and someone was telling me she had RLS and her doctor prescribed Tizanidine for her. I'm not sure I've ever heard of it. Has anyone else heard of this and/or tried this medicine and, if so, does it work?

Tizanidine

Tizanidine is a muscle relaxant. There have been occasional reports that it helps RLS and others that it aggravates RLS:

Of course, like everything it has various listed side effects:
I've used tiZanidine for a few years but not for RLS. But my low back pain seems to trigger or coincidentally brings on RLS in the late afternoon. Usually the back pain is worse later in the day but the RLS comes on late in the evening if at all. Presently I take tiZanidine for the back spasms. I'm also on oxycodone 5mg 4x/day with not much relief for chronic pain. I just started transitioning to Buprenorphine 10mcg patches, the jury is still out on this. I just "fired" a pain clinic as they just didn't get it.
