Long term Pregabalin

Hi,

I’m 51 & been on Pregabalin for about 4 years. Originally prescribed 50mg AM, 50mg lunch & 225mg PM as I was having symptoms in the day as well. I’m now down to 225mg before bed & 85% symptom free. My consultant is very supportive & happy to increase the dose slightly to try & decrease the residual symptoms.

My question to all you wonderful people who support & offer advice to us, is there an advised length of time you can/should be on Pregabalin? With hopefully a few decades ahead of me, is it something I can/will be on for the rest of my life without any detrimental & am I likely to need to up the dosage as time goes by if the symptoms creep back again an intervals? Sorry if they’re a crystal ball kind of questions.

Thanks in advance!

Yes you will be on it for life. You will probably have to increase it by 25 mg but as a guess only every decade and the max is 600 mg.

Thanks Sue for such a speedy reply! It’s reassuring to know it’s not just a temporary fix as it has been a real game changer for me.
