From Gabapentin to Pregabalin

Let me just preface my comments with the caveat that we are all different! On Sunday, with a small measure of apprehension I came off Gabapentin and started Pregabalin. I have a lot of pain but this is probably as much to do with Small Fibre Neuropathy as with RLS. I was on a quest to try to minimise the pain although I know many have gone this way before! Without rambling too much suffice to say it is going well and, surprisingly, my 2700mg of Gabapentin is currently being satisfactorily being replaced by 225mg of Pregabalin. I haven’t noticed any withdrawal symptoms and long may it continue!

I’m on 150mg and would say I get 100% coverage 80% of the time. Had no issues apart from a bit of occasional night time dizziness.

If it stops working I’m not sure if I would increase the dose - I worry about the inevitable withdrawal. I’ll cross that bridge if/when it happens.

Thankyou , was curious because the doses of Pregablin i have tried didnt help me so i wondered if a higher dose might .I went up to 150mg without relief so seems it just doesnt do the job for me x

I think 300mg is the highest recommended dose but I would have thought you would have noticed some improvement at 150mg if it was going to work. Are things not going so well?

Pam i am on my Neupro patch 2 week "break " to help avoid augmentation so always a difficult time for me .High doses of opiates are getting me through but cause dreadful constipation ! So i always looking for alternatives but seems wont be Pregablin in my case .Thankyou for replying x
