I developed Polyalgia 1990 and was forced to retire at age 51. As a Senior Health Promotional Officer. I taught healthy lifestyle to reduce the effects of mental and physical decline. Nurses, teachers, police, social workers and pharmacists and those who interact with people who would be able to teach others to continue health improvements.
I was prescribed Tramadol and Amitriptaline and after 17 yrs my doctor took me off Tramadol saying they would be detrimental to my health. The day after RLS began and since I have been in a desperate situation. All the meds have been prescribed didn’t help at all Then after I deteriorated from years of little sleep I was suicidal and my doctor referred me to the wonderful Dr Jose Thomas in Gwent, South Wales who prescribed Methadone. It took several months increasing to 10mls x twice daily to find enough to help me sleep for longer than 1-2 hrs. I can function now and no longer to end my life although I’m still very emotional at the drop of a hat.
I’m so desperately sorry for those who cannot find a empathetic dr who can’t appreciate the hell we endure constantly. An animal would not have to go though this . I pray you will find a consultant who will help you to find relief. Love and blessings to all X

The wonderful Dr Jose Thomas. My favourite UK doctor and one of the only ones who actually follows the latest research and evidence from the experts in the USA.
Sadly, he can't prescribe to patients in England.
If my area ever stops Buprenorphine- I will move to Cardiff to be under Dr Thomas.
Sadly Jools when I asked him he said he doesn't prescribe buprenorphine. At the moment anyway. He's not against it per se as a drug and knows it works for RLS.He told me that he prefers to prescribe methadone. It's more of a political thing to do with the health authority 's drug committee.
