Gabapentin and sleepwalking

What is this now? Finally started my Gabapentin three days ago. Been sleeping pretty good, however, now I am walking in my sleep. I sill take this over most of the miserable nights on pramipexole. The thing is that I've fallen down every night by tripping on things and tonight I awoke when I crashed on the kitchen floor and now my knees are killing me. Another oddity is that I had an episode of withdrawal like I had up until three days ago from the Pramipexole. What gives? This falling down isn't acceptable.

Merry Christmas BTW!

That is not good! Falling can be dangerous. May I ask about your dose? Maybe you started out too high?

Cleaning out your rooms and store things in a locked space may help a bit in the short term, but may be tedious.

Merry Christmas to you and yours too.

That may be the answer. thank you,

It is a very rare side effect. I would stop taking it as Lotte said that could be dangerous.

Ask your doctor instead for pregabalin. Although it is basically the same drug except you don't need to divide the doses, and the side effects are basically the same, some people find that the side effects that bother them on one don't bother them on the other.

unfortunately pregabalin is not available in the V.A. system. I was lucky to get gabapentin. maybe I need to et used to it or build up a tolerance or something. I seem to remember that Joolsg mentioned that they thought I was being over prescribed as to my age and that I should start with 100 mg and not 300mg. This may be the problem.

Then I would suggest you get a bed alarm to wake you if you start to sleepwalk. amazon.com/sleepwalking-ala...

You don't want to seriously hurt yourself which you could,

That's an excellent idea. Thanks!

Yes- I would certainly get an alarm.I hadn't realised such things were available.

I was going to suggest a string attached to your wrist and connected to the bed, so that the resistance would wake you.

But isn't Amazon wonderful!😎

A string attached to your wrist would certainly be a low cost solution.👍
