Hi,no I am not on the wrong forum! There's a character on the programme who has Parkinsons and is on meds for it.Over ther couple of weeks his behaviour has changed and he has started gambling and stealing his partners cash and making very risky investments etc.I said to.my hubby I guarantee he's on Dopamine Agonists. Tonight on the programme his GP tried to intervene telling him he has developed impulse disorders due to his medication. I will be listening intently tomorrow to see if the meds are actually named.I hope someone with RLS may be watching and realise its the meds causing their impulse disorders Anything that gets the message out there can only be a good thing Pipps

That's great, Pipps- Well spotted.

I'm in hospital at present and the TV is broken- and pretty crappy even when it was working!

Hopefully the theme will continue for a few days till I get released.

Keep well yourself

We gals have to keep our spirits up any way we can!😝

I'm sorry to hear you are in the hospital. Hope it's nothing serious and you are soon out.

Nothing too serious ,thanks.

Ankle fusion for a sprain that occurred 35 years ago.

Arthritis had set in and was getting too painful to continue.

Great opportunity to educate the nurses on importance of opioids for RLS treatment.

Unfortunately, the surgeon is not interested in RLS unless I start getting fidgety during the procedure.😅

Next 6 months will be quiet !😝💚

Brilliant news Pipps.Let's hope RLS patients make the connection & get help.

Mind you, I'm getting sick of GPs saying it's very rare & only happens at high doses. Which is completely incorrect.

I also follow Emmerdale , and picked up on it , honestly I think the researchers have done an excellent job , in realising this , and highlighting it , I so hope our Gp’s watch the series , I developed shopping addiction while using the meds , also I now know that I made some decisions that I’m now not proud of 😢

Do hope the writers actually treat it with some seriousness and something of social value, not just a wacky attention grabber in their storylines.

I picked up on it aswell . As u can get over sexualised behaviour to. I just wondered if it could be proved it was the drug and someone lost all their savings or home would they be able to claim against the face that it was out of character and the meds can cause these problems . Would be interesting to know as if people realised this before they start these meds they may not want to. I remember when I first read the side effects and saw this I couldn't quite believe a drug could cause this !! But it does ..

I’m in the US and I’m unfamiliar with the show but that great news that they are at least talking about these drugs. The writer or producer must have 1st hand experience with DAs.
