You wonder if what would work? Ropinirole extended release? Why do you need another med? You say that you are completely RLS free on your current meds and have been for 18 years.

The 4 mg ER would be 1 mg stronger than the 3 mg ropinirole you are already taking which you certainly don't need. And if you ever want to get off the ropinirole and neupro, you would have to switch back from the ER version to the regular one anyway.

Why are you even considering it?

But would that compensate me getting off the neutro patch

No. You would need regular 4.5 mg

When I read neupro patch it brings up horrible memories of augmentation and impulsive control disorders. It was a nightmare!

Hello Bat3353. I was prescribed Neupro Patches and Ropinirole for severe RLS but not to be used at the same time. The patch is a slow release and both are Dopamine Agonists and are no longer recommended for use in cases of RLS only in extreme cases at end of life. I suggest you read the Mayo Clinics Algorithm on RLS and its treatment. It took me 13 months to come off Dopamine Agonists. There’s alternative treatment for RLS that you can find in Mayo Clinics articles. Well worth reading and taking to whoever was so misguided as to prescribe Nupro and Ropinirole. It’s shocking how little the medical profession knows about RLS.

Good luck 🤞 HipHop1972

If you are talking about the doctors on the restless legs foundation website be aware that although the doctors have been submitted to this list by someone who used them and found them knowledgeable or by doctors who have applied to be on the list, they still might prescribe dopamine agonists which you don't want and/or they might not prescribe opioids if you need them. If it is a person that submitted the name they might have been happy with a dopamine agonist and without an opioid. The best way to find out if they are knowledgeable and up-to-date is to ask if they have read the Mayo Clinic Updated Algorithm on RLS.

If you tell me where you live I may be able to recommend someone.
