I haven't read the article but Neurofeedback is a non-invasive therapeutic technique that uses brain wave measurements to help people learn to control their brain activity. It uses electroencephalograph (EEG) readings to measure brain waves and provide feedback to the user.
The article is from 2012. If effective, you'd expect further studies/case reports in the meantime. I note that one of the case study subjects remained on Requip.
I did neurofeedback for PLMD/RLS.
30 sessions at a cost of approximately 5000 AUD. It did absolutely nothing.
The one patient they spotlighted continued on Mirapex and Ambien. I always suspect a therapy for RLS when patients continue on a DA. But it is interesting - maybe for more garden variety sleep issues.
