I am lucky to be living in Arizona and able to use Medical Marijuana and Methadone. Methadone completely controls my Restless Legs but causes insomnia. I found that taking 2mg Methadone earlier in the day at 2pm instead of before bedtime , I’m able to sleep. I also use Indica strain of marijuana at bedtime to help with sleep. I do feel foggy headed in the morning but grateful for sleep.
I appreciate all the info I have read on this site.

I have tried Pregabalin before bedtime and didn’t notice any difference, but that was before I started taking Methadone earlier in the day. I’ll give it a try. Thank you
Most doctors will not prescribe opioids for RLS so I keep a list of those that will so if someone needs a doctor I can refer them to him/her. So it would be great if you could tell me the name of your doctor and what city s/he is in so I can add to my list.
been taking methadone for 10 years or so. It’s literally the only thing that has worked for my RLS after trying many options. I’m in calif. no problem getting it.
I have been taking methodone for about 2 months 12.5 mg. I still wake during the night with rls. If I get out of bed and walk around the rls gets better. before methodone I went off of pramapexole - a nightmare. I was hoping the methodone would completely get rid of my rls. but that has not happened. How much methodone do you take and what time.
I take 2.5 mg of Methadone. I was taking it an hour before going to bed, but lately I’m taking it in the afternoon. It does control my restless legs but sometimes I suffer from insomnia. How long have you been off Pramapexole? Maybe you are still having side effects from that.
Taking Methadone earlier in the day does help with insomnia. Methadone does cause me some nausea and I feel foggy headed when I wake up. I find if I get moving around and eat I feel better.
