My TENS unit experience

I purchased a TENS machine recently having read on various forums of others' success with it for RLS.

The first night i went very gently, using it at 1/5th of the recommended intensity for approximately 10 minutes.

The second night, i upped the intensity to 1/3 of the recommended amount. I also used the device for 30 minutes.

That second night, i noticed quite a few muscle contractions as i was using the device but figured that things would calm down eventually. The bad news is that they didn't. I had the worst RLS that i have had for a long time and as a result, I'm not especially inclined to try it again.

Back to the drawing board...next on the list is an infrared lamp 😊

Oh dear. Sadly, the same happened to me when I tried revivitive. I hate to think how much I've spent on useless herbs, vitamins, devices.

But I sell them on via ebay.

It's so strange that what works for one person, has the exact opposite effect on another. It really makes one wonder.

Glad you're managing to on-sell some of your non-successes!😀

Thanks for this. Someone on another forum reports using a 30 year old and very basic Philips InfraPhil infrared lamp (1000nm which is not even the recommended wavelength) and still has good results with it.

That's promising. Will be interested in how it goes for you.

I recently tried a TENS type foot “circulation Revitaliser” with a couple of pads you put your feet on which a friend said helped her restless legs, but I knew it wasn’t going to work when my RLS started while using it! I did try it for a few nights but absolutely no benefit.

l tried a tens machine too, it seemed to help at first, but didn’t last.

Back to the drugs!
