Yes, HRT can make RLS worse as SueJohnson has replied against your duplicate post.

She has given you info about starting on gabapentin/pregabalin: follow her advice on how much to take and when, as UK doctors have not been trained to treat RLS and tend to follow largely outdated protocols. A UK doctor may still try to prescribe a dopamine agonist instead - pramipexole, ropinirole or rotigotine - which should be refused.

You say that you have tried to take iron but have had problems, but don't say what form of iron and how much you have taken. Try ferrous bisglycinate - branded as Gentle Iron - which you'll have to buy in a chemist or health food store.

Oh, haha, of course! Thanks so much for pointing out the obvious. I was so focused on RLS, that I thought it was some RLS remedy that I wasn't familiar with . Thanks!

Me, too. But they're now adminstering HRT routinely without fear of cancer (as was the case in my day) to prvent all sorts of stuff, including osteoporosis, hair loss, etc. Since my RLS began around the same time as menopause, I'm wondering if it would have made a difference. Well, too late for me to find out now. : (
