Some medicines that are safe for high blood pressure are propranolol (Inderal, Hemangeol, InnoPran) a beta blocker that may help RLS, Isosorbide Mononitrate (Monoket, Imdur) which is not a beta blocker nor calcium channel blocker. Other possibilities are: Clonidine (Catapres) an Alpha-2-Agonist used to treat high blood pressure which may help RLS and which also treats insomnia, tenex (Guanfacine, Intuniv), prazosin (Minipress) an alpha-adrenergic blocker that is also useful in managing sleep-related problems caused by PTSD and Tadalafil a vasodilator that in one study completely eliminated RLS. Clonidine can actually help RLS. Discuss these with your doctor. And then there is reducing salt by 1 teaspoon a day nih.gov/news-events/nih-res....

Hi Sue, I hope you’re well and Happy new year to you and yours. I’m on methadone for the past 1 year, after a few months I was able to sleep from 1-2hrs. to 5.6 hrs. It hasn’t helped with the constant tingling, trilling down my lower legs 24hrs. Would Clopidogrel cause this effect? Thank you.

It is not known as a side effect. However that sensation often accompanies RLS.

Thank you Sue, back to the drawing board. Although I have other problems which are being investigated by my consultant. A Cancer on top of my kidney, already diagnosed a year ago. I have frothy wee, pale poo, a very bad reaction after eating the tiniest of sugar eg one fig. After 6 hrs and over 28 hrs this happens x30+ times. become unsteady, have to bend over, a taste on my tongue and I gasp, a feel like I’m dying, my pulse is 170-200 when it happens each time. I’ve told several medics who haven’t heard or know about this reaction. Perhaps you have Sue? X

No I have never heard of that. Strange!

I'm so sorry about the cancer.

Isosorbide reacted very badly with my RLS. Couldn't sleep at all, RLS on high the whole 3 nights.

Do you already have RLS? I can tell you that Buprenorphine (Bupr) which controls my RLS completely, also controls my blood pressure (BP). I was on BP medicine and then started Bupr. Doc's didn't put 2 + 2 together and I ended up in the ER nearly dead one night about 6 weeks after starting Bupr. My BP was 62/40 at the time of admission. They withheld my BP med for the next 3 days and my BP returned to normal and has been there for the last six years without BP medicine. Two benefits from one tiny pill.

That's great but what an awful way to find out you don't need BP medicine!

I agree. And I've wondered if anyone else on on Buprenorphine has discovered this issue? BP might not be an issue for those on low dose Bupr.

Hello Caravan24. I’m prescribed 10 mg Lisinopril which is safe to take with RLS. The GP wanted to prescribe something else but I checked on this forum and have no issues with the Lisinopril. Good luck
