Neupro Patch Weaning

I’ve read most of the forum’s input regarding Neupro Patches and relayed the information to the physician. He has decided to optimize the Gabapentin dose and discontinue the patch. A bit of history…….. the patch was started 12/19/23…10 days ago. Prior to that, ropinirole was weaning off (dose on 12/19 before stopping 1.5mg). The physician wants to discontinue the patch without weaning (3mg /24h) after being on for 10 days. The UCB patch is not supposed to be cut according the manufacturer insert. Can ropinirole be used to complete the weaning process (both are dopamine agonists)? That is …. Stop the patch, Use a comparable ropinirole dose, and slowly taper off?

Yes but the mg doses are not the same equivalencies. 1.5 ropinirole = 1 mg neupro.

How would you suggest we tackle the taper at this point with ropinirole?

My husband's neuro said to cut patch, it still works.
